When used online, the BBB Accredited Business Seal confirms that a business has been accredited by the BBB where it is headquartered or has its Internet operations. As part of the accreditation process, the business has been determined to meet BBB's truth in advertising guidelines, to disclose information about its operation and its policies, to follow basic privacy and security practices, and to respond appropriately to any problems that arise. Authorized seal holders are instructed to link the BBB Accredited Business Seal to a confirmation page on BBB’s site which includes a link to the BBB report on the business, allowing online shoppers to instantly verify a business's trustworthiness.
Businesses may join BBBOnLine through the BBB where they are headquartered or where their Internet operations are located. License fees to display the BBB Accredited Business seal may vary.
